This page gives you a map showing which terrain is visible and where the peaks are, which is a thing I am trying to learn. This Website is incredibly cool in general to fiddle around with and I recommend folks learn about their mountains as part of connecting to a Bioregion like Cascadia. It's also useful for things like an at-home aircraft sensor.
There are parts of Seattle that have incredible views of the mountain ranges surrounding the city. HeyWhatsThat shows you for a given location + altitude where your horizon is and what you can see on them. At Golden Gardens you can see quite a lot of the Olympics on a clear day, but I never realized how little of the range you can actually see. Some of the largest peaks are closer to Port Angeles [fn:1:https://www.peakbagger.com/range.aspx?rid=12201] and are behind the relatively diminutive Mt Townsend.
There is a really tantalizing imagemap showing the peaks and terrain, but it's not a high enough resolution to be useful on its own, and is blown in to a weird proportion. I want to figure out how to generate something like that eventually. The map is very useful though.
